BDS Building & Maintenance – The Horder Centre

Following a risk assessment conducted by a private hospital near Crowborough, BDS Building and Maintenance were contracted to supply and install security fencing and gates to protect a backup generator needed by the facility in the event of a power outage.

358 anti-climb security mesh fencing and gates were specified, and having used Ontrack Commercial Fencing on previous projects, we were an obvious choice for this project.

During our site survey Ontrack agreed that 358 mesh fencing system should be used and noted that the access gates would need to be base plated and bolted down to the existing concrete base previously installed for the generator. We suggested that supplying the fencing and gates polyester powder coated green would be the best choice due to the surrounding woodland environment.

Prior to installation, Ontrack carried out a full CAT Scan and identified several underground cables that needed extreme caution when excavating the post holes. Some of the posts needed to be moved to avoid clashes with these cables.

We were also able to bring the site facility manager’s attention to some previously damaged unprotected underground cables that required attention.

We were able to source materials quickly and installed the fencing in a timely manner to irradicate the risk identified during the initial assessment.
